Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1. About Us

These terms apply to all roofing and building services we provide and to your use of this website. PH Roofing and Building Services is based in Whitchurch, Bristol.

Phone: +44 1793 678848
Email: contact@phroofing.lookfirstmarketing.com

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean PH Roofing and Building Services. “You” and “your” mean the customer or website visitor. By requesting a quote, booking work or using this website, you agree to these terms.

2. Our Services

We provide roofing and building services for domestic and commercial customers in Whitchurch, Bristol, Brislington, Knowle, Hengrove, Stockwood, Hanham, Kingswood and the surrounding areas, including:

  • New roof installation
  • Damp proofing
  • Repointing
  • Fascia, soffits and gutters
  • Flat roofing
  • Lead works

Some jobs outside our usual area may be accepted at our discretion.

3. Quotes and Estimates

  • Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
  • Each quote is an itemised price for the work described in it. It is valid for the period stated on the quote, usually 30 days from the date issued.
  • A quote is based on the information you give us and what we can see at the time of inspection. Roofs and walls often hide problems such as rotten timbers, damaged battens, failed underlay or deteriorated mortar.
  • If we find extra work that is needed once the job starts, we will stop, explain it, and give you a price for it. We will not carry out or charge for additional work without your agreement.
  • Any variation to the original quote should be confirmed in writing (text or email is fine).

4. Booking and Acceptance

A contract is formed when you accept our quote, in writing or verbally, and we confirm a start date. We will agree a start date and estimated duration with you. If you need to change the date, please give us as much notice as possible.

5. Your Right to Cancel

Cancelling within 14 days. If you agree to work at your home, or away from our business premises, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of accepting the quote. You do not need to give a reason. To cancel, tell us by phone or email. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, this right may not apply to certain urgent work (see below).

Starting work within the 14 days. If you want us to start within the 14-day period, for example for urgent repairs, we will ask you to confirm this. If you then cancel, you must pay for the work already carried out and any materials ordered or supplied up to that point.

Urgent work. If you ask us to attend urgently, for example for a leak, and we carry out work at your request, you are responsible for paying for that work even if you later change your mind. You may lose your right to cancel once urgent work has been completed.

Cancelling after work has started. We may charge for work completed, materials ordered or delivered, and any special-order items that cannot be returned.

6. Prices and Payment

  • All prices are in pounds sterling (£). Your quote will state whether VAT is included.
  • Payment terms will be set out in your quote. Unless agreed otherwise:
    • Smaller jobs and repairs: payment is due on completion.
    • Larger jobs such as full re-roofs: a deposit may be requested before materials are ordered, with the balance due on completion. The amount will be stated in your quote.
  • Accepted payment methods will be confirmed when we issue your quote.
  • If an invoice is not paid on time, we may charge interest at the rate set by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 for commercial customers, and reserve the right to take reasonable steps to recover the debt.
  • Materials remain our property until paid for in full.

7. Access, Site Conditions and Weather

  • You must give us safe and reasonable access to the property, and to scaffolding or ladder positions where needed.
  • Please make sure pets and children are kept away from the work area, and that vehicles are moved if we ask.
  • Please tell us about hazards such as asbestos, fragile roof surfaces, or shared or neighbouring boundaries before work starts.
  • If you rent your property or share a wall or roof with neighbours, you are responsible for getting any permission needed.
  • Roofing and external building work depends on the weather. We may need to delay or pause work in high winds, rain, frost or unsafe conditions. We will keep you informed and rebook as soon as practical. We are not liable for delays caused by weather.
  • Some work may need planning permission, building regulations approval or listed building consent. Unless agreed in writing, you are responsible for checking and obtaining these.

8. Materials

We use materials suited to your property, such as roof tiles and slate, flat roofing systems, lead, pointing mortars, damp proofing products, and fascia, soffit and guttering materials. Where we cannot obtain a specified material, we may substitute a product of equal or better quality, and we will tell you first. Natural products such as slate, clay tile and lime mortar can vary slightly in colour and texture. This is normal.

9. Workmanship Guarantee

  • Our work is guaranteed for workmanship. The guarantee period for each job will be stated on your quote or invoice.
  • The guarantee covers faults caused by our workmanship. It does not cover:
    • Damage caused by storms, extreme weather or accidents after completion
    • Problems caused by other people’s work, or by existing defects we told you about
    • Normal wear and tear, or lack of reasonable maintenance
    • Damage caused by third parties, or by anything installed on the roof or wall after our work
    • Work that has not been paid for in full
  • Materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where one is offered.
  • If you find a problem, please contact us promptly so we can inspect it and put it right.

This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. That Act requires services to be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

10. Insurance

If you would like details of our insurance cover for your job, please ask us before work begins.

11. Urgent Repairs

If you have an urgent problem, such as an active leak, please call us and we will do our best to attend as soon as we reasonably can. Urgent work is typically a temporary or make-safe repair to prevent further damage. A permanent repair may be recommended as a separate job. Any additional charges for urgent or out-of-hours attendance will be explained before we attend.

12. Our Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be limited.

Subject to that, we are not liable for:

  • Loss or damage that could not reasonably have been expected when the contract was made
  • Damage caused by pre-existing defects or hidden conditions we could not reasonably have discovered
  • Loss of profit or business interruption (for business customers)
  • Delays caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including weather, supply shortages, or restricted access

13. Complaints

We want to put things right. If you are unhappy, please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible, describe the issue, and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and fix it. We will acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them fairly.

14. Photographs

We may take photographs of completed work for our records and for use on our website, gallery and social media. We will not include your name or address without your permission. If you would prefer we do not use photographs of your property, please tell us before work begins.

15. Website Use

The content on this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to PH Roofing and Building Services and must not be copied or reused without our written permission. We aim to keep the website accurate, but it is for general information and does not form an offer. Prices, availability and service details may change. We are not responsible for the content of external websites we link to, such as Google Maps or social media.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you accept a quote applies to that job.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless you live elsewhere in the UK and have mandatory rights to use your local courts.
